{"id":351,"date":"2010-08-03T07:54:52","date_gmt":"2010-08-03T11:54:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.homegrownonahobbyfarm.com\/?p=351"},"modified":"2011-11-15T18:03:37","modified_gmt":"2011-11-15T23:03:37","slug":"squashblossoms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.homegrownonahobbyfarm.com\/index.php\/2010\/08\/squashblossoms\/","title":{"rendered":"Squashblossoms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.homegrownonahobbyfarm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/squashblossoms1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"squashblossoms\" width=\"200\" height=\"301\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-355\" \/>I thought it would be nice to show a picture of the butternut squashblossoms which are practically at peak color and size right now. <\/p>\n<p>When taking the photo I was met with the most pleasant surprise: bzzzzzzzz. <\/p>\n<p>The entire section of butternut squash, which, at this point in the summer has just about taken over the entire garden, was \u201cbuzzing.\u201d I leaned in to hold the giant green leaves aside in order to snap pictures of one of the orange\/golden flowers. To my utter surprise and delight, each flower had at least 2 bumblebees inside\u2014and there were so many flowers, I couldn&#8217;t count them all?! <\/p>\n<p>As a vegetable gardener, you can be surprised on a daily basis; I can honestly say, I&#8217;d never seen<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.homegrownonahobbyfarm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/squashblossom1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"squashblossom\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-358\" \/> (or heard) anything like this in the garden before.
